Scott Zucker

Scott Zucker specializes in business and commercial litigation with an emphasis on dispute resolution in the areas of construction, realstate, employment, landlord-tenant and franchise law.

Scott represents companies in matters relating to contract claims, loss and damage claims, delay and productivity claims, premises liability actions and tenant dispossessory. Scott also reviews and drafts construction contracts, property leases and employment agreements, trains property managers in office, retail, multi-family, industrial and self-storage and evaluates property management operations in those areas. Scott also has extensive experience in creditors’ rights and bankruptcy proceedings as well as in commercial collections.

He represents companies throughout the country in resolving their commercial disputes in state or federal courts and hrough Alternate Dispute Resolution. Scott obtained his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1984 and his law degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C in 1987.

Major Mark Hollingsworth

Major Mark Hollingsworth is the Commander of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Arkansas State Police.He currently supervises the 86 special agents and 15 civilians assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division of the Arkansas State Police.

Major Hollingsworth was commissioned as a Trooper with the ASP in 1985 and has worked as a Highway Patrol Trooper, Highway Patrol Sergeant, CID Special Agent, CID Sergeant, CID Company Commander and SWAT supervisor.

Prior to joining the ranks of the ASP, he was a deputy sheriff with the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department from 1982-1985. Major Hollingsworth has completed the Crime Scene Technician Certificate course and the School of Law Enforcement Supervision (SLES) at the Criminal Justice Institute and has an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement from University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

He is a certified law enforcement instructor and holds a Senior certificate through the Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (CLEST). He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, 264th Session.He is married to his wife Kaye and has two adult daughters and 2 grandsons.

Anne Ballard

Anne Ballard is former Founder and President of Universal Management Company, as well as President 2015 and 2016 of the GASSA- GA Self Storage Association, and past Board member of the SSA- Self Storage Association as well as Senior Faculty member for the SSA’s Regional Supervisor’s program. Universal manages Self Storage facilities in Georgia, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Colorado, New York, Pennsylvania, California, Kansas and Oklahoma.

Anne is now President of Marketing, Training and Developmental Services for Universal Storage Group; a new entity created in late 2012 from a merger of Universal Management with RES Management a South Carolina based storage Management Company. USG now manages and consults to 60+ US and International facilities. Anne serves on the Board of Directors for USG. Industry activism is an integral part of Anne and Universal’s decades of storage experience and service.

From co-authoring the Georgia copyrighted Rental Agreement and Employment Agreement, to assisting in 4 changes to the Georgia Self Storage statutes that resulted in changes beneficial to Georgia operators, to facility planning, feasibility studies, design, start ups and operation. She has been a frequent speaker at SSA and ISS conventions and workshops for more than a decade. She also has spoken to numerous state and International storage organizations including Texas, Massachusetts, Washington, Wisconsin, Alabama, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Maine, Idaho, Missouri, Georgia, as well as in England, Germany, Spain, and the Australasian Self Storage Association.

USG has won the coveted Best Manager Training award from Inside Self Storage’s Best of Business awards five times. 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017. Anne directly provides training, marketing, design and planning services for Universal’s management and consulting clients. Universal provides full service management, marketing and financial accounting to its property owners. Universal has been consistently ranked among the Top Operators in both the Mini Messenger Magazine and Inside Self Storage Magazine for over a decade.

Having written articles for numerous magazines and state associations for many years, Anne’s book, The Hat Lady Speaks, Marketing and Managing Self Storage is published by MiniCo, publisher of Mini Storage Messenger, Self Storage Almanac and the sponsors of her webinar Master Class Series. Supervisory Special Agent Jason Van Goor

Supervisory Special Agent Jason Van Goor Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Little Rock Division Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) Jason Van Goor began his career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in July 2005. SSA Van Goor’s first assignment was the Phoenix Division, Tucson Resident Agency, where he investigated crimes in Indian country, gangs, violent crimes, and international terrorism.

In 2013, SSA Van Goor was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) in the Counterterrorism Division, International Terrorism Operations Section (ITOS) at FBI Headquarters in Washington D.C. In 2014, SSA Van Goor was promoted to Unit Chief in ITOS. In that capacity he provided program management for all international terrorism cases in an 18 state region. In 2016, SSA Van Goor transferred to Little Rock, Arkansas where he is currently the SSA in charge of the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. SSA Van Goor attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI, where he obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biochemistry and a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. SSA Van Goor also holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice and Security Administration.

Brian Byrd

Brian Byrd is the COO and Partner with Landvest Corporation, a self-storage operator based out of Wichita, KS. Brian brings 25 years of multi-unit management, nearly 20 in self-storage, to the table. Brian is a national speaker within the self storage industry, author, and in-demand sales skills trainer and coach.

His sales training and coaching customers include National and State Associations, District and Senior Level Management, and various sales teams. Brian infuses his experience into his slap-stick style presentations, which prove to be informative and entertaining to his audiences.

Brian delivers a high-energy, high-content, and a memorable presentation for everyone. Joan Lucas, President of the Colorado Self Storage Association says, “Brian made me think about things I never thought of before in this business”.
